Azad Maidan
In front of Menezes Braganza Institute is the sprawling Azad Maidan, lined on one side by the police head quarters, built of stones from old Goa’s abandoned buildings. The pavilion at the centre was made in 1847 using the Corinthian pillars taken from a Dominican church, of the 16th century. Inside, there is a memorial to the freedom fighter, Dr Tristao de Braganza Cunha.
